Karlo Ilić made his literary debut in 2025 with the title Taksim Bop, published by Ex Libris. Since 2017, as editor, he has overseen the Jazz Beat series, featuring titles such as “the most important African-American novel of the 20th century” (Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man) and “the explosive autobiography of one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century” (Charles Mingus’s Beneath the Underdog). He has translated and edited works ranging from fiction to academic texts, including Yusef Lateef’s Autophysiopsychic Writings and Eric Hobsbawm’s The Jazz Scene (by “the greatest historian of the 20th century”).
